Status Quo: Large number of tools in use leads to increased monitoring effort

As one of the largest OEMs, ECO STOR also operates a number of large storage systems itself. However, prior to the introduction of Amperecloud Platform, the monitoring of the portfolio, which is currently over 100 MWh in size, was based on a mix of manual processes, specialized tools and Excel.

Specifically, the company used a web-based ticket system, an additional tool for data visualization, another software solution for organizing maintenance tasks and report-based parameter monitoring developed in-house by the data science team. Information from these programs was also partially merged in Excel.

In search of a centralized system for operational management

The existing IT landscape ultimately resulted in inefficiencies and, in some cases, poor data quality. For this reason, ECO STOR was looking for a central system that would create coherence from monitoring to reporting.

In the selection process, the scope of the software solution was therefore highly relevant, as were the options for individual customization. At the same time, ECO STOR was looking for "a competent partner who would respond quickly to questions and potential problems," says Dr. Alexander Zeh, Head of Operations Management at ECO STOR.

Amperecloud offers comprehensive monitoring system for BESS

After an evaluation process lasting several months, Amperecloud Platform was finally chosen. "We were particularly impressed by the flexibility of the software solution and the enormous degree of customization right from the start," recalls Alexander Zeh of the search for a provider. Nevertheless, the system is extremely intuitive and easy to use.

In addition, ECO STOR can completely replace its previous tool landscape with the system, as the software offers not only pure monitoring but also a CMMS, fully automated reporting, individual alarm programming and master data management. Thanks to its openness, Amperecloud Platform can actually map all BESS projects managed by ECO STOR in the software.

Result: High degree of automation with better data quality

By introducing Amperecloud Platform, ECO STOR was able to reduce the number of software solutions used for technical operations management by 80%. This not only led to significant efficiency gains in day-to-day work, but also to an improvement in data quality.

According to Alexander Zeh, all future plants will therefore continue to be implemented in Amperecloud Platform, so that the company remains the most important partner in the O&M sector.
