Initial situation
Unstructured status codes and heterogeneous system landscape increase monitoring effort
As one of the largest EPCs in the stationary battery storage sector, ECO STOR operates numerous large storage facilities - including Germany's largest battery storage facility in Bollingstedt. Before the introduction of the Amperecloud Platform, however, the monitoring of the portfolio, which at the time comprised over 100 MWh, was based on a heterogeneous IT landscape: a web-based ticket system, separate tools for data visualization, maintenance management and an internal solution from the data science team for report-based parameter monitoring. A lot of information also had to be compiled manually in Excel - a process that led to inefficiencies and, in some cases, poor data quality.

Dealing with status codes and error messages from the battery storage systems was particularly challenging. These are usually unstructured, difficult to interpret and differ depending on the manufacturer. A great deal of experience was required to even recognize critical messages - it was not uncommon for relevant alarms to get lost in the daily flood of information. At the same time, compliance with warranty conditions proved to be difficult, as warranty-relevant parameters were not defined.

ECO STOR was therefore looking for a solution that would intelligently process and prioritize status codes, while at the same time offering a central, integrated platform for monitoring, reporting and operational management. A reliable contact partner was also important to the company.

Amperecloud Platform as a comprehensive operating system for large-scale storage
After a selection process lasting several months, ECO STOR decided to introduce the Amperecloud Platform - an integrated solution that completely replaces the previously fragmented tool landscape. In addition to classic monitoring, the platform combines a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), fully automated reporting, individual alarm programming and central master data management in a single system. Thanks to its open architecture, Amperecloud Platform can seamlessly map both technical KPIs and marketing data from BESS projects managed by ECO STOR - regardless of the manufacturer.

The specially developed, manufacturer-specific status code set brings together all error messages in one place. The platform automatically takes over the weighting, description and summary of the messages - including specific recommendations for action. This means that critical alarms can now be identified and processed quickly and reliably.

Monitoring warranty conditions is also much easier with the operating system: ECO STOR can define individual limit values and is automatically alerted if they are exceeded or not reached. This creates transparency and enables audit-proof tracking of all relevant operating deviations - a decisive step for the safe and economical operation of storage systems.

By introducing Amperecloud Platform , ECO STOR was able to reduce the number of software solutions used for technical operations management by 80%. This not only led to significant efficiency gains in day-to-day work, but also to an improvement in data quality.
