Differences between Solar-Log and Amperecloud

Both Amperecloud and Solar-Log offer comprehensive functions in monitoring of pv plants. You can freely create dashboards, clearly visualize data and display important KPIs such as the performance ratio or target/actual comparisons.

However, this is only possible with Solar-Log if your solar farm is equipped with data loggers from Huawei, Meteocontrol or Solar-Log itself. Amperecloud, on the other hand, is completely hardware-independent.

The data basis is also more distinctive with Amperecloud. For example, completely free calculation levels can be created in the digital twin. Non-data sending components such as fences can also be integrated into the twin. This makes on-site operations much easier, for example.

Different levels of detail in the ticket system

Solar-Log offers you a basic ticket system that divides individual tickets into one of three levels: to-do, in progress, finished. There is no customizability, for example through ticket labels or free ticket templates. Solar-Log also does not include the automatic creation of tickets for recurring tasks, for example.

Amperecloud has a fully comprehensive CMMS including numerous ticket templates and the option to create your own templates. You can assign tasks within tickets, communicate with colleagues, label the tickets for easier prioritization and transfer them to an assignment with one click. Technicians on site also have offline access to all the necessary deployment information.

The intelligent ticket history also registers when similar tickets and deployments are assigned to a system. This allows you to identify and solve recurring problems more quickly.

Support as an important criteria

Solar-Log offers extensive training and support services. You can find recorded webinars, videos and practical workshops in the Solar-Log Academy. Clear FAQs and comprehensive data sheets provide in-depth insight into the products. Solar-Log has a Google rating of 3.4 (source, as of November 2023).

Amperecloud also offers a wide range of support services. There is a comprehensive migration service for new customers, who receive training and a dedicated contact person. Users can also find important technical and practical information about Platform in the knowledge database. Amperecloud's Google ratings (4.5 stars; source, as of November 2023) emphasize the dynamic, innovative team, the trusting partnership and the great service, among other things.

Tip: Test monitoring solution

Both Amperecloud and Solar-Log offer comprehensive PV monitoring software. Differences between the two providers lie particularly in the areas of digital twin, tickets and, last but not least, user guidance. In any case, it is advisable to test providers directly in practice before making a purchase.
